My 2nd great grandfather is John Anderson Collins born somewhere between 1846 and 1863.  Some of our family say 1846 in Tennessee (nashville area?) others say 1863 in Missouri (Hannibal area?).  All agree he was an orphan.  Rumor has it he had 2 sisters and maybe 1 brother.  One story says one day his father was walking to town and was conscripted into the army.  No one knows which side or what happened to him.  His name may have been William.  John married Almeda Camp in Cedar CO, MO on 8 March 1877.  Family tradition says that she too was an orphan. John died 21 April 1911, Louisburg, Kansas. I am totally stuck.  Does this JOhn sound like anyone in your files? Thanks! Jacqui
