I have a John Anderson Collins Father John mother Judith Whitaker Our John was born in 1845 Madison County KY 1845 married Nancy Ellen Whitaker January 1862 Madison County KY John died November 15 1926 KY. You caught my attention with the Cedar County Mo, thought we might be connected. I was born in Cedar Co, my grandparents Homer and Ava Collins lived most of their lives in Cedar County not far from Caplinger Mills. Some of our family say 1846 in Tennessee (nashville area?) others say 1863 in Missouri (Hannibal area?). All agree he was an orphan. Rumor has it he had 2 sisters and maybe 1 brother. One story says one day his father was walking to town and was conscripted into the army. No one knows which side or what happened to him. His name may have been William. John married Almeda Camp in Cedar CO, MO on 8 March 1877. Family tradition says that she too was an orphan. John died 21 April 1911, Louisburg, Kansas. I am totally stuck.
