    3. Please contact me. It appears that we share the same great grandfather, Obediah Collins. After the war, he showed up in Bell Co, KY in the 1870 census with a young wife named Elizabeth, both from NC and married less than 1 year. They had a son, William Lewis Collins born about 1875 (my great grandfather) and another son that died a few hours after he was born. By 1880, Elizabeth dissappeared, Obediah and son William are living in Clay Co., KY in a Lovins household. In Sept. 1880, Obediah married again, this time to Lucy Powell. They had at least one child, Joseph. By 1900, Obediah is gone and Lucy is married to a Hensley. I haven't been avle to find a trace of Obediah beyohd this, he may have died. William Lewis Collins married Dora Jones in Claiborne Co., TN about 1895. They lived in Bell Co., KY. He was murdered in 1901 as he keft the voting polls because he did not vote the way they wanted him to. Beyond this, we know very little about the Collins family. I sure was delighted to see your letter on this list! Please write again. I would love to have a copy os the dates and info from the Bible that you have. Do you have any pictures of the family?
