She was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Creston, Neb., to George Daniel and Elvena Marie (Brixius) Collins. She grew up on a farm near Madison, Neb., and graduated from high school at Grand Island, Neb., where she played clarinet and saxophone in the band. She then went to LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, Calif., where she met Archie E. Cooper. They were married Dec. 16, 1955. They began their career of ministry and served churches in California, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado, while raising their family. They served Foursquare churches in Berthoud and Loveland, and helped pioneer the Life Center Foursquare Church in Fort Collins. She was currently an associate pastor at Grace Fellowship Foursquare Church in Fort Collins. She was a self-taught piano and accordion player and is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a loyal servant to the church. She is survived by her husband, Archie Cooper of Fort Collins; a son, Jerry Cooper and wife Sue of Loveland; two daughters, Janice Schraeder of Fort Collins, and Bobbi Samuel and husband Jim of Fort Collins; three brothers, Gary Collins and wife Deborah of Kearney, Neb., Michael Jo Collins and wife Renda of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Rick Collins of Virginia; five sisters, Patsy Henning and husband Dick of Spanaway, Wash., Carol Lute of Brush, Karen Renault of Laughlin, Nev., Dianne Harding and husband Ted of Holcomb, Kan., and Debra Marshall and husband Dowe of Grant, Neb.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darryl Collins. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Fellowship Foursquare Church, 1201 N. College Ave., Fort Collins.
