Hello List~ I am hoping to connect with someone else who is researching the family of Micajah Collins of Blacksburg, Montgomery, Virginia. I haven't been able to find much on this family. However I have made a few connections through census records, but without vital records I can't be possitive. 1850 Montgomery Co, VA census, page 133, 31 Oct 1850 shows this household: 898/898 Micajah Collins 50 Elizabeth " 59 Susan " 28 Nancy " 21 Joshua " 15 1860 Montgomery County, VA census shows this household 1129/1025 Lucinda Daugherty 53 Nancy A. " 20 Harry. T. " 18 Alice V. " 5 Micajah Collins 63 Sarah Bland 56. I believe that Lucinda, Micajah, and Sarah are brother and sisters. 1870 Montgomery Co, VA Census shows this household: ADAM PRICE, MALE, AGE 76 YRS. W NANCY PRICE, FEMALE, AGE 62 YRS. W (Nancy was a Collins) SUSANNAH PRICE, FEMALE, AGE 20 YRS, W Sarah Bland, Female, Age 77, W (Nancy's sister) Benjamin Price, Male, Age 42, B ( "Ben My negro man" mentioned in the will of Henry David Price.). The above Census connects Nancy Collins with Sarah, Lucinda, and Micajah from the 1860 Census. Besides that, Adam and Nancy Price named one of thier daughters Lucinda. I'm looking for a John Collins in late 1800's Wise Co. VA. He might be listed as mullatto as he was full Native American. Unknown spouse, but son Isaac was born in VA in 1858 and was married to Mourning Collins in 1877 and have a daughter with them (Laurabelle age 1) in the 1880 census for Wise Co. VA. Laurabelle is my husband's great-grandmother. His mother said they were Blackfoot. But we are trying to find definite proof of which tribe they are from. My husband is now 67, and I would like to find out this information to tell him fairly soon, as his health is not good. Can anyone help or have connection to this family? Thanks, Linda Guy
