My gg-grandfather was James Collins. He was born in 1832 in Galway, Ireland. His father was Peter Collins. James may have had siblings named Timothy, Catherine or Mary. In 1850 James and his family lived in either Jersey City, NJ or Brooklyn, NY. James married my gg-grandmother Ann Collins (her real maiden name) in 1852 at St. Peter's Church in Jersey City. Ann's parents were Michael and Mary Collins. Ann Collins was born on 3/1835 in Ireland. Ann's siblings may also have been Timothy, Catherine or Mary. You can see the difficulty in sorting out siblings. Ann Collin's family also probably lived in either Brooklyn or Jersey City in 1850. I would appreciate any help in researching the 1850 US Census for either of these two Collins familes. I am trying to get information that will lead me to their exact birthplaces in Ireland.
