My name is Robert Johnson, and I am researching the COLLINS of Lawrence Co., OH. Namely, my g-g-grandfather. His name was John H. (Henry?) COLLINS, and I have found on the internet where he married Eliza Ann WAUGH between Jan 1-18, 1875. The problem I am having is that I was told by my grandmother that John's biological father was a PEPPER, and that he died while John was a young child. His mother then remarried (to a COLLINS), and John took his stepfathers name. Since everything else in the history that was given by her was correct, I assume this to be correct also. She did have Eliza Ann's surname as WALL though, and that has been proven to be a mispelling. I have been on this "brick wall" for over 10 years, and thought that there may be someone else on this line. Any help would be appreciated. Possibly even a lookup of the marriage of John and Eliza may help with the names, although I suspect he listed his stepfather as his father. Thanks so much, Robert
