THREE KILLED IN SHOOTOUT Jan. 8, 1884 ---- Three men are killed in a blazing gun battle in the Abilene saloon. Dead on the scene are Deputy Sheriff Walter COLLINS and saloon owner Zeno HEMPHILL. The deputy's brother. Frank COLLINS, dies March 14 from his wounds. More that 20 shots are reportedly fired. The dispute is apparently about new gambling laws.
