I'm looking for information about Samuel Collins (especially parents and siblings), of Shoe Cove and Shoal Bay, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland. This Samuel Collins was married to Elizabeth (believed to be Elizabeth Delilah Wilkins, b 1864 on Cobbler's Island, daughter of Robert Wilkins of Bridport, Dorset, England and Leah Jane Roberts) and had the following children in Shoe Cove: * William, b.1883 * Stanley, b.1884, d. 1948 (apparently never married) * Esther, b. abt. 1886, m. Arthur Collins (b. 1885 in Shoe Cove) * Robert Samuel, b. abt, 1887, m. Naomi Collins (b. 1894 in Hare Bay), d. 1964 * Eunice, b.1892, m. Jacob Hounsell (b. abt. 1887 on Pinchard's Island), d. 1955 Shoal Bay (aka Wellington aka Dover) was settled by Collinses in the early 1890s. Samuel and Elizabeth had the following children in Shoal Bay: * David Garfield (known as Garfield), b. 1894, m. Elizabeth Price (b. abt. 1898 in Trinity Bay, d. 1921) and Lily B. Ward (b. abt. 1903 in Gambo), d. bet. 1936-1945 * Rosanna, b. 1896, m. Henry H. Saunders (b. abt. 1893 on Gooseberry island) Samuel seems to marry a second time to a Fanny/Franie (b. abt. 1880 on Fair Island). (Stanley is listed as Fanny's step-son in the 1935 and 1945 censuses of Wellington. All the children - except William - appear in the 1935 and/or 1945 censuses of either Wellington or the neighbouring community of Hare Bay). Samuel appears in 1898 and 1904 business directories for Shoal Bay, but not in either of the 1935 or 1945 censuses. Thank you.
