    3. Hello Fellow Researchers: This is the first time I have posted to this list. My name is Brenda Collins Dillon . I have been doing family history for almost 30 years . I have a website called APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN FAMILIES which is a Tri-racial site with the Research of Virginia DeMarce online as well as a downloadable file in zip form. The line I am working on is COLLINS. I trace Meredith back to his entry record in Fincastle Montgomery where he enlisted 1776 along with George Collins ,David Collins, and Lewis Collins. These four are also found still together in Montgomery County milita durning the 1780's ( according to Kegley). I don't know if they are brothers but feel that in some way these four men are related. Meredith COLLINS married first time in NC to unknown woman and fathered two children, one being Bradley COLLINS ( note Bradley was an unusual first name for that time period and I believe it was somehow a family name) Meredith married second to "Polly" HOLLOWAY ca: 1795-6 probably NC ( no proof) Meredith and Polly moved and are found in 1800 on tax list in Russell Co. Va. When they arrive in Russell County they now have 4 children ( female,Bradley, John W.and Edward) Born in russell Co. Archibald b. 1800, James b. 1804, a female, Rubeon, William b. 1806. By 1810 they show up on census of Floyd Co. KY(later Pike Co.) Polly HOLLOWAY COLLINS d. 1812 Floyd Co KY Meredith with several small children took in a common law wife, Milly Johnson. To that union was born Merdy Johnson( believed to be Levi Collins)b. 1815-18. Would love to connect with someone also searching this line.
