Greetings Would appreciate any info, especially parents and siblings, of Eli COLLINS, born about 1809 in North Carolina, d before 1870, probably Union Co., GA. Eli married Dorcas ALEXANDER in 1829 in Mecklenburg Co., NC. By 1840 they moved to Surry Co., NC, then about 1845 to Union Co., GA. In the late 1860's Dorcas and her children (most married) moved to Benton Co., AR where she died after 1880. Eli and Dorcas's children (all born in NC except for the youngest) include: Susan COLLINS, b c1832. William Jasper COLLINS, b 1831, d 1909 in Benton Co., AR. He married Fannie FREEMAN in GA. Cintha COLLINS, b c1836, d probably in Benton Co. AR after 1870. She married Enoch SPARKS, probably in GA. Enoch served in the Confederate Army with his brothers-in-law, Absalom and James COLLINS. He died in 1862 due to his service. Mary Cornelia COLLINS, b 1839, d 1913 in Avery, Red River Co., TX. She married Jesse Singleton FREEMAN sister of Fannie (FREEMAN) COLLINS. They lived in Benton Co., AR until at least 1900. Absalom Alexander COLLINS b c1842 d 1864 due to injury while serving in the Confederate Army. James P. COLLINS, b c1845 d 1862 due to injury while serving in the Confederate Army. Dorcas Jane COLLINS, b 1848 in Union Co., GA. and d after 1870 in Benton Co., AR.
