I might be completely off base here, however, I think your suggestion that the information gathered on COLLINS and sent out to all of us researching this surname, is "garbage" is an insult to the person taking the time and making the effort for the benefit of us all. It is the exact reason that some of us subscribe to a list in the first place! How would be know to contact someone directly if we don't know what information they might have? Often, just seeing the similarity of names is a clue to the next generation back and can give us a place to look. I, for one, am grateful to ANYONE who takes the time to post information that might prove helpful to someone.
