    3. Sharon; I was beginning to think that my Whitworth's were the only elusive ones. Now I know better. I don't think that the Jacob in 1830's was mine but then again who knows for sure? My Jacob was in 1850 Chalmers Co, AL as a logger on the census. By 1860, he had a son born in Shelby Co, TN. In 1870 he had my GGrandfather William H who, according to his death record, had been born in MS. Of course MS is only about 10minutes from Memphis. This 1870 census though was from Obion Co, TN. Then by 1880 census Jacob and family minus William H. were in Gibson Co, TN. William H. was in the 1880 Lawrence Co, AR census where he would marry my GGrandmother Cordelia Ward in 1882. I believe my Jacob Van Buren Whitworth's parents were Jacob and Elizabeth Trottender Whitworth from Rockingham Co, NC and William H's death record says he was born in NC. So since your Samuel came out of NC and was born in close proximity to my Jacob Van Buren, there is a longshot they could have been born brothers which, of course remains to be proven. I know I haven't been very helpful but like we have already said those whitworth's are hard to keep track of. If we can ever tie your Samuel to My Jacob, I have a wealth of info on Jacob's decendents to send you.
