Claude; I was sent a simular question a few months ago. If I could tie my Dycus' in with the Kent Co, Md Dicus', I'd do it in a heartbeat. I've been researching about 5 years now on various family lines in mine and my wife's side and I want you to know that Dycus is the hardest one yet. The person who sent this question also sent a package from the LDS which showed the earliest known Dicus to come to America to Kent Co, Md. I did not recognize any of the names. The furtherest I can go back to where there is no doubt is my GGGrandfather Joshua Walter Dycus. Beyond that I found a Edward Dicus who had moved into This area in 1808 into Hickman Co, Tn and was found to be on the 1820 Maury Co, Tn census. The man who sent this info also had a Edward Dycus but it turned out he was on the 1820 census of Jackson Co, Tn. Now Jackson Co is probably only about a hundred miles or so from Hickman/Maury Counties but I couldn't see the connection. This Joshua had a brother Elijah. If any of these names sound familiar, please contact me. I do have the address of the man who contacted me. Perhaps ya'll can work out something. Cecil Van Dyke: clydevd@aol.com.
