I recieved this post and thought someone else might know words to song and possibly help more in finding Floyd Collins. Perhaps others know of more mine disasters and could share their info. appreciate your post on the Red Ash Mine explosion. I am related to Collins and Harris. I was raised in Boissevain and lived in Richlands although I do not recall this explosion since I was about 6. I did witness a mine explosion immediatedly after the fact at Amonate VA/WV about 1958. My father missed the 1932 Boissevain Explosion because of a shift change. Your article as printed in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph was very interesting. I read that paper on line each day. Post like yours is why I spend so much time on this list. By the way. there is a song about Floyd Collins and the Coal Mine Explosion. My mom would sing it all the time but I don't remember the words. Thanks.
