To all: Can anyone tell me why Wake County, NC is such a common place for ancestors to be from? Was there a port near there or something? I'm asking because I was told that the Wake County>AL>MS path that my ancestors took was extremely common and I don't know exactly why. What drew so many people to Wake County in the first place and why did they choose AL and MS after that? Cheap land, maybe? If anyone knows please get back to me. Thanks!
