Willa C. VanKirk ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Willa Collins VanKirk, of the Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community, Asheville, formerly of Charleston, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, in the Mountain Area Hospice Hospital, Solace, N.C. She was a native of Grafton, W.Va., a graduate of West Virginia University, a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, retired from DuPont, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Surviving: daughter, Mary A. VanLeer of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla; sister, Dorothy Steele of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Sunday at St. Giles Chapel, Asheville, with the Rev. Gary Farmer and the Rev. John Southern officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
