Hi Marjorie, Here is an abstract from the Will of Thomas Collins. Price Collins is also mentioned in two of his brother's Wills in Somerset County (Thomas & William). This day the last will and testament of Thomas Collins deceased was proved in open court by the corporal oaths of Joseph Hickman, Benjamin Nottingham, Jane Johnson and allowed of and ordered to be recorded. (Vol II, 1686-1689, page 92) In the name of God Amen, this eleventh day of January 1687/8 I Thomas Collins, planter in the County of Northampton in Virginia being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect memory praise be given to God for the same and knowing the uncertainty of life on this Earth and begin desirous to settle things in order do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my Creator assuredly believing that I shall receive full pardon and free remission of all my sins and be saved by the pretious death and merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus and my body to the earth from whence it was taken and be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to my exec'rx here and after named shall be thought and convenient and as touching such worldly estate as the Lord in mercy hath lent me, my will and meaning is the same shall be employed and bestowed as hereafter by this my will is expressed and first I do revoke, renounce, frustrate and make void all wills by me formerly made and declared and appoint this my last will and testament. Imprimus - I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Thomas Collins one featherbed and bolster and one pot and one chest to be delivered to him when he shall attain to the age of eighteen at which time I set him at age if please God I shall now depart this world. Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Walter Collins one featherbed and bolster and one yearling heifer to be delivered to him at the age of eighteen at which time I set him at age, I desire he may have one frying pan delivered to him when he shall come to age. Item - I give unto my well beloved sons Andrew and Price Collins two cows on named "Traveler" and the other named "Pesley" to run between them while they shall attain to the age of eighteen with all their female increase and to be divided between them equally when my son Andrew shall attain to eighteen years of age and my son Price to receive is part when he shall attain the age of eighteen with the female increase till that time at which time I set them at age. Item - I give to my well beloved son William Collins one handmill and one spit and one iron pot when he shall attain to eighteen. Item - My will and desire is that my three steers be sold for the good of all my children and when the Overseers which I shall appoint shall see fit to make sale of them, I desire the produce thereof may be laid out in what necessaries may be for good or stand need of. Item - I give unto and bequeath Harmon Johnsons three children- two barrow shotes and one sow shote cropt on the left ear with three slits down the cropt and a hole in the right and to run at my plantation while the afore mentioned Harmon Johnson or his order shall produce in lieu of each shote and ewe lamb apiece and each of the children to have a lamb forever delivered to them with all their increase male and female at the purchase thereof I will that the said Harman receive the three shotes immediately after my decease. Item - My will and desire is that all my well beloved sons be every one at age when please God they shall attain to the age of eighteen and that the afore yearling hiefer which I bequeathed to my son Walter Collins to be delivered to him to run for him with all her female increase forever within convenient time after my decease. Item - I give and bequeath to my loving wife and well beloved daughter Susan and my daughter Elizabeth, one mare to run between them with all their increase while such times their Overseers shall see fit. Lastly - My will and desire is that my loving wife Ann Collins be in whole and sole exec'rx giving all the rest of my estate to my loving wife that I am possessed with all both within doors and without only to cause to be delivered to my daughter Susan one looking glass at the day of her death. I further desire and appoint my loving friends Thomas Powell and Benjamin Nottingham and Joseph Hickman all of them or any two of them as overseers to act to the best of their skill and knowledge in seeing the afore will of my desire fullfilled in perticular.
