In the books "Territorial Papers of the US", in the "Territory of Mississippi" or "Territory of Alabama" (2Vols of Ala), William Collins was one of the first into the territory. Remember that Alabama was once in the Territory of Mississippi until Ala was formed. I would bet this book is the New England William Collins. I order from Higginson a lot and have gotten both good and bad reprints. Also look in "Passports Through GA" because Indian traders had to get a passport from Georgia to go into the Territories. Bev
