    1. Revolutionary Collins in VA
    2. Hi all: I paid a visit to the National Archives Mid-Atlantic branch on Friday and came back with some interesting records on a few of the Collins of VA that fought in the Revolution. I suspect that several of these folks might be brothers of my Robert Collins, so if anyone makes a connection, please let me know. This info was taken from an index to the muster rolls. As usual, this was what I found right at closing, so I didn't get a chance to actually look at the muster rolls themselves for further info. Hope these tidbits help someone. Robert Collins (not mine) was a fifer in Livingston's Batallion of the Contential Troops. Robert Collins (again not mine) was a Dragoon/Private in the 4th Regiment of the Light Dragoons Continential Troops. Robert Collins (THIS one is mine) Private in the 8th VA Regiment Peter Collins - served in 8th, 4th and 12th VA Regiment as well as the Corps of the Invalids John Collins was a Private in the 4, 8, and 12th VA Regiments Charles Collins served in 8th VA regiment James Collins served in 4, 8, and 12th VA Regiments. I suspect that all these Collins in the 4, 8 and 12th VA were related, but maybe it was just a coincindece. Let me know if there are any matches. Thanks -- Ann
