MGC: Elizabeth Whitmore's father is Francis Whitmore. But I am currently seeing that William Whitmore as probably part of that same family line. The one [Sir George Whitmore (Lord Mayor of London 1631-2)] is closely related to him it seems, and I think this George Whitmore gets placed in chookie. This Whitmore family is in London and Yorks I think it is (Apley ?). Some of these associated people seem to go to VA, and you might want to add that early VA Henrie Collins to your list of Collins for further research +-R. Below I have made a quick selection of notes which seem to show quite some pattern here in London and to the mayors of London. I suggest you keep and print this post because sooner or later you will have to go through them all to see how they all are related to each other. Make good note of all the surnames mentioned here and wherever else you see them come up again. One truly needs to use say Google Maps and actually look up every place name, and you will clearly see the closeness of these people here in the L1 area of London, in fact, some literally living on the same block (!!!). I can only suspect Benjamin Franklin's line must also connect to this L1 area of London too ?. But you can notice just how high flying some of these people are here in L1 Mayors area. Make exceptional note that [St. Edmund-the-King Lombard Street] is in the same short road as [St. Mary Woolnoth Lombard Street] (!!!). We will also find several links to these mayors etc. here in London to Archbishops etc. === 1567. William Bonde. He married the widow of Giles Garton (Alderman 1588-9); she, after his death, married William Walthall (Alderman, Sheriff 1606-7). 1600. Sir William Craven. Brother-in-law of Sir George Whitmore (Lord Mayor 1631-2) and father of the first Earl Craven and of Lord Craven of Ryton, the founder of the Craven Scholarships at Oxford and Cambridge. His daughters married respectively Lord Powis, father of the Jacobite Marquis of Powis and the second Lord Coventry, by whom she was mother of the first and fourth Earls of Coventry. 1602. 'The last male heir of the eldest of Archbishop Cranmer's sons' [Sir J. Baddeley, Aldermen of Cripplegate Ward, p. 62]. His only daughter married Sir Anthony Chester, Bart., whose uncle, Sir Henry Chester, K.B., was the second husband of her mother, the Alderman's widow (a sister of Thomas Wood, Bishop of Lichfield). [Other Separate Marriage Notes]: 161-JB Franklin, Philip (Franklyn), of St. Mildred, Bread Street, and Johanna Rose, spinster, of St. Mary Somerset, daughter of Thomas Rose, fishmonger, late of City of London, deceased - at St. Mary Somerset. 9 Feb. 158*. === I did say there seems to one John Eldred and a George and William Whitmore tagging around together, this must be them ?. John Eldred 1604 Mayor of London, that must be a hit. This Bond family must be further sought and understood. Straight after John Eldred and then William Bond, none other than one William Mott, who undoubtedly must connect to the Mott family associated with Earls Colne, must be a hit (Mark Mott). We know that this Collins family in here in London with Acton, and also directly connected to Bramford in Suffolk. Sir William Acton's sole dg an heiress marries none other than one Sir Thomas Whitmore the nephew of Sir George Whitmore Lord Mayor of London (Now in Chookie !!!). Samuel Cranmer not long after. And then one Philip Franklyn who m. Johanna Rose dg of Thomas Rose fishmonger of London, who must undoubtedly must be exceptionally of near kin to the Thomas Rose of Exmouth Devon, or the same person ?. I think there is a huge lot in this post to say the least. The basic frame is there, it just needs a lot of filling in. Martha Collins of EC's father will be a John Collins/Collens. But he does move a bit. One will need to make a list of all known Martha Collins dg of any John Collins any where for reasonable TL. At this point in TL, you still have the correct Daniel Markham from EC. One thing it seems, both Collins - Whitmore - Francklyn - Acton trees will eventually turn out to have some seriously interesting family connections, etc. But I think that aire of expectation has always been there. This one John Collins of London could/should be Daniel Collins brother one would think ?. Sibbell Colenes is born in London, but Johne Collens is only in that one spot/place for maybe one year or so, and seems to move elsewhere. There is only one single Sibbell Colenes record I know of, but apart from that, it has to be her. She m. Henery Linch, a clerk of sorts in London L1 area. She visits her ill sister Martha ''Goodwife'' Markham in EC. So that is the proof from primary record. I am happy with that. Good enough for me. So we need to better identify this Johne Collens, and where is it he went to ?. There is something missing here that is upsetting everything. [Olltrupp, Richard, weaver, and Mary Rose, of London, widow of Thomas Rose, late of St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, weaver, gen. lic., 27 Oct. 1593.] : This I suspect is also part of this tree. - S.K.M. - [!!!] =======================
