There were many William Collins' living in Missouri in 1880, one of them may have married my grandmother, Cora Jane Hathaway, on 4 Feb 1889 in Campbell twp. Greene, MO. My question is which one of them is my grandfather? The couple had two children, Ruth Ann Collins born in 1895, and Robert Fitzsimmons Collins born in 1897. The Census of 1890 was burned, in the Census of 1900 Cora Jane and her children were living in Lebanon, Laclede, MO as a widow with her parents, Josiah and Temperence Hathaway. In the Census of 1900 the children's father was listed as being from Illinois, and their mother as being from Ireland. Cora Jane was born in Illinois, it could be possible that William Collins was Irish. Who were William Collins family? What happened to him? Where was he from?
