I have been trying for years to locate the grave and death date of Simeon Collins of Jasper Co MS. His parents were Stacey Collins SR and Sarah Amderson. His wife was Lydia Bynum He was conscripted into the Civil War...although he was a bit old for it. He was captured and parolled. He joined Newt Knight's group. It is unknown if he died before 1870 as things seem to indicate, (his wife appears as a widow on a subsequent state census and federal census) or if he maybe went on the lam with Newt Knight. Family tradition says he is buried "somewhere in South Jasper Co MS" Regina Roper
