    2. Lee Ann -- my Collins family was near Evansville in this same time frame. They were all located in Newburgh, Warrick Co, IN. Slaughter Jonas COLLINS, b 1840, m Elizabeth Comfort PEARSON b 1849. Elizabeth was the daughter of Claborn A. and Hannah (SPRINGER) PEARSON m Aug 10, 1837 Crawford Co, IN. Slaughter's father was Jonas Ball COLLINS b May 3, 1795 in Berlin, VT, but was probably raised in Broome, Bedford Co., Lower Canada. Jonas m. Eleanor Hixa BRISCO(E) Apr 28, 1833 in Warrick Co, IN. Slaughter had a brother, Salvin, and two sisters - America and Nancy Jane, all older siblings. Slaughter and Elizabeth had these children on their farm in Newburgh, which is only a few miles from Evansville: Urie, Eula, Cora, Karr, Hixa, Phoebe, Blanche, Olive, and Louis Springer COLLINS.
