The following pedigree was furnished by Burrill Smith, of Monkton, VT., who is now in his possession many old Collins documents; among other an old deed given to Daniel Collins, of New Milford, Conn., in 1716, and a deed to Nathan Collins dated 1730. I. Daniel Collins, who is suppose to have emigrated from England sometime previous to 1716. He had three sons,viz: II. Jacob Collins, Joseph and Nathan; the last of whom, Nathan was of New Milford. He married and had issue,viz: III. Phoebe Collins, b Aug 06, 1730, Sarah b May 1,1733, and Daniel, b June 24, 1739, and married Hannah Hotchkiss, and came with his family to Monkton, VT., March 04,1789,from New Milford,Conn. They started from New Milford Feb 16, 1789. The children of Daniel and Hannah Collins were: IV. 1. Nathan Collins, b at New Milford, Conn., April 06, 1770. Married Hannah Downe, Nov 02 1802 2. Daniel Collins, b Oct 28,1772, married Sarah Smith 3. Phoebe Collins, b Dec 28, 1773, married Joseph Smith 4. David Collins, b 1775, married Elizabeth Roscoe 5. Edmond Collins,b 1778, married Selena Smith Mar.04,1810 Nathan Collins, last above named had issue by his wife Hannah. V. 1. Lois Collins, b. July1, 1803, married John Naramor. 2. Nelson, b July 26,1806, married Caroline Beers 2. Daniel Collins, who married Sarah Smith had by her issue. V. 1. Alson Collins, m Jerusha Hardy 1816 2.
