    1. Re: COLLINS Query
    2. Hi All, I am looking for any information on JOHN W. COLLINS - born 9, Aug, 1873 in East Liberty and died 5, Mar, 1940 in Aspinwall at the Veterans Hospital. He was the oldest son of Francis & Mary (McCOURT) COLLINS and brother to Francis & Patrick Collins of Pittsburgh (twins) and Rose Ann COLLINS-SMITH of Pitcairn, PA. John served with Teddy Roosevelt at the Battle of San Juan Hill. He left the army in 1902 and went to work for Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing in East Pittsburgh. He left there in 1926 and went to work as the liason officer of the Department of Pennsylvania, United Spanish American War Veterans. He had 4 children - John & Frank Collins, Alice B. Church, and Hazel Nottleman. I pulled all of this information from an obituary I found in my grandmother's documents. I hate to say this - but none of my family knows a thing about him or his children. Sure hope some one out there can help me.
