    1. [COLLINS] The Theatre + The Globe [!!!]
    2. TW
    3. ?MGC: === === === Forewords: OK, so we have a [Edwarde Collins, clotheworker, adventurer] in London. +-R: Should be one of yours ?. Now we from previous posts of mine, that there seemed to be a Collins link to the 'Globe' etc. We know that the merchant Daniel Collins of St. Peter le Poer London, is closely related to the Franklyn and Okeover families there. I left my research I think with that one Rowland Okeover's line going back into Derbyshire somewhere. This is correct since his direct ascent line ''I would think'', actually is directly associated with earlier lines of Okeover who were High Sheriffs of both Derby + Notts (!!!). It will be from this area, that quite some closeness to the NL (Noble Line) Markhams might come in, and they might. Later lines of Okeover marry into the Babington family and there is even one named Leeke Okeover person. What 'clearly' should be a line of this same Okeover family is in a place called LITCHFIELD. There is another Edward Collins coming in as you will see. William Overton is the Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry. Litchfield is a hotspot for some associated families it seems. Make good note of the new surnames coming in here and general patterns. (+-R), probably one of yours: [In the Public Record Office in London, there is a record showing the "superstitious practices" were causing the authorities concern in Chelmarsh in 1577, in the 20th year of Queen Elizabeth's reign. A commission was appointed to enquire into whether land at Farnold's Moor, on the boundaries of Chelmarsh and Glazeley, was used to pay for a candle to be set before an image in Chelmarsh Church and for a priest to serve in "Our Lady's Chapel", to say mass on St Valentine's Day. The enquiry appeared to find only one person prepared to testify. This was Thomas Westwood of Eardington, gent. He knew nothing about the candle, but claimed that three priests, William Overton, Edward Collyns and Thomas Lowe, were employed to sing masses for all "dystressed" souls. The land had been given by Joyce Blount, who was now dead.] One Edwarde Collyns alongside Robert Myles (Miles) of Whitechapel w'out Allgate London free of the Company of Goldsmiths. Also Gyles Allen who had lands in St. Leonard's Shordiche without Bishops gate. Also John Braynes. Take time to view a Google map to see where St. Leonards is. There is a William Markham here who m. Joyce, see the HOTMN book I 'think' it would be. He has at least 3 dg, maybe a 4th, and possibly a son William ???. Remember all these people I am pointing out. Also James Burbage. So we already have Collyns - Myles - Allen - Braynes - Burbage - Overton - Okeover - Lowe - Bagot (!!! - !!! - !!!). Make exceptional note of this last pattern (!!!). This is still the 'Foreword', a lot here. You can read all the texts and refs. for yourself to get the rest of the links and info. An original playhouse was built 1576 in Shoreditch London by James Burbage named ''The Theatre'' in L1 area. There were a whole lot of issues around this theatre, and several court cases. ''The Lord Chamberlain's Men'' resided here and included William Shakespeare. Remember there was one Shakespeare in Earls Colne too. There was another playhouse near the Thames named the 'Rose'. Briefly, ''The Theatre'' was pulled down, not demolished, and much of this building was then transported and used to build the 'Globe'. ''The Theatre'' ended about 1597 and the ''Globe'' started about 1598. Read as much as you can before and after this page, this is all of the court cases: http://books.google.co.za/books?id=y82YJ1P5gksC&pg=PA365&lpg=PA365&dq=robert+miles+theatre&source=bl&ots=6tUXhN3NZg&sig=OS6woDv-jec7KMEDbY6EPhZYMFw&hl=en&ei=jwm_TOinNIPL4gaHoOyDAQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8&ved=0CDUQ6AEwBw#v=onepage&q=robert%20miles%20theatre&f=false The Goldsmiths, not every single name included here, but good enough for now: http://books.google.co.za/books?id=3iY9AAAAIAAJ&pg=PT240&dq=William+Markham+Goldsmith+Foster+Lane&hl=en&ei=KY28TNPDLNS5jAeMncS2Dg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCoQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=William%20Markham%20Goldsmith%20Foster%20Lane&f=false Martin - Markham - Marsh - Marshall, there are Collins too if you go to it. Humphrey Okeover, Esq., High Sheriff (1631: High Sheriff of Derbyshire) m. Lettice Bagot. His parents were Rowland Okeover, Esq. + Anne Needham, and his parents were Philip Okeover, Esq. (Of Okeover Staffs.) + Elizabeth Babington. Etc. http://books.google.co.za/books?ei=YE6_TMnhHcna4Ab6ga18&ct=result&id=5DsQAQAAIAAJ&dq=Edwarde+Collyns+William+Overton&q=Collyns#search_anchor [Robert Myles of Whitechapel, Goldsmith]. [Nicholas Collins Goldsmith of Littchfield, .... divers evell]. [.... William Nicoll, and that of Edward Collyns, the grocer who bought Brayne out]. St. Mary Woolnoth Church London is clearly a hotspot. >From what I can see, a John Franklyn Markham also comes into the picture towards the Turkey Seas. === === === Edward Byrd Walter Collyns: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=46359 - S.K.M. - [!!!] ============================
