This obituary appeared in the Chattanooga Times, May 26, 1933, for my ggrandmother Lousina S.COLLINS HARPER, born in Haywood Co, NC: Mrs. L. S. Harper, 83, died yesterday afternoon at her home in Lakeview, Ga. Mrs. Harper had been a member of the Rossville Methodist Episcopal Church, south, for the past twenty years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emma Schmidt, of Chattanooga and Mrs. Nancy Anderson, of Chicago, two sons. J.P. and Frank Harper, one Brother, Ben Collins, of California, three sisters, Mrs. Minerva Geren and Mrs. Sarah Myrick, both of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Martha McDowell, of Texas, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Coulter's. Obit in the Rossville Open Gate, 2 June 1933 adds: Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the M.E. church, south, conducted by Rev. E.L. McConnell, who paid a high tribute to her long and useful life. Pallbearers were William, Frank, James and J. P. Harper, Jr., and Cecil McDaniel. Interment took place in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
