MGC: This post is [Pure Speculation]. My one intention is to put out some patterns to follow. I can't write every item I have written of before, like precise places etc., but one can go back on my previous emails on the Markham-UK list and get that info. I find it difficult going back on some things. Takes too long. It seems that a whole chunk of large numbers of related families hopped out of England into NE + VA etc. http://www.bowyerfamily.org/rose/1.htm http://www.bowyerfamily.org/rose/17.htm We know that Thomas Rose from Exmouth in Devon came to Suffolk to a place near Ipswich in Suffolk ?. It is here at Elmswell in Suffolk you might find one Robert Rose m. Margery. This line of Rose comes into Branford + Wethersfield CT NE. You can notice the huge naming pattern of the children of Robert Rose. I can only assume Thomas Rose and Robert Rose are of very near kinship !. Assuming that to be correct, let us take look further: We know the Collins family of Bramford Suffolk is where the contingent of Collins we are concerned with were mainly born, but, not really from there, only there by association with the Acton family etc. This Collins family is in London L1 area and EC and Braintree, etc., and the epicentre given out. We know of one William Markham of Bardwell Suffolk which is close to Bramford Suffolk. There are quite a number of associated surnames found here in Bardwell, that is for sure. I will give some of these out when I can get to it. We know that nearly every single person married a relative, and so there must be a link through families into Bardwell or any other place and connection etc. And so father or son or brother or daughter, or thereabouts, would often show a link back into another associated family etc. But this link would also include say the m. of a Collins family into another family, and then that family was closely linked to the m. family say wife of a Markham. So there will be this married link between two focal point surnames. Or more simply put, through families of related spouses etc. William Markham m. Mary Caston of Bardwell Suffolk had a dg Elizabeth Marcom m. William Spink(e). The Spin(c)k(e) family clearly has a contingent of Spink in Ipswich Suffolk. But not only that .... Super Ken Says: 'Let it be Remembered Forever that': [Michael Spinke m:27-12-1663 Elizabeth Rose St. Mary Stoke, Ipswich, Suffolk]. Markham - Spink - Rose - (Collins + Acton of Bramford). This [William Markham Shopkeeper in Bardwell Suffolk m. Mary Caston] actually goes into Bramford Suffolk (!!!). He also has a son John Markham m:03-11-1794 Susan Watson in Bardwell Suffolk. I have so far 12 children for this William Markham. This WM does not necessarily have to be one of the DDM lineages, but from the marriage side, he is related. This WM is also being sought for connection to: [Ancestor of Tasmanian Markhams is Robert Markham (born 1740s) lived in village of Shotley, Suffolk, England] if any ?. The interesting thing here, is the 100 year still related !. This is obviously worth following through.... The Spink family in Bardwell also m. into Barrell family, and the naming pattern is unreal. In Bardwell are families of: Goff, Baldero, Goslin (Josselin), Daniel, Day, Finch, Coppin, Aldred, etc. For DDM at least, make very good note of Day and Finch, it will form a good part of your tree eventually either ways. Also Harrison and Haywood, Wheeler, Meade. Parker, Stebbing, all round. - S.K.M. - [!!!] ========================
