SOWDER, Mildred Collins, 71, of Christiansburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 5, 1998. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd Collins of Florida, Frank Collins of Roanoke and Alfred Collins of Christiansburg. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Violet Collins of Christiansburg; her brother and his wife, Steve and Judy Collins of Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Jay Collins Gardner of Florida, HelenCollins of Roanoke and Velma Collins of Christiansburg. Also surviving are her loving and dedicated husband of 46 years, Otis A. Sowder; her son, Otis A.Sowder,Jr. of Elliston and his children, Maygon, Brynn and Dillon; her son and his wife, Allen and SusanSowder of Fairfax and their daughter, Lauren; her daughter, Carol Ann Sowder of Christiansburg; her daughter and her husband, Julia and Roger Acton of Radford and their children, Krista and Tori; her son and his wife, Bobby and Kelly Sowder of Christiansburg and their son, Cody. Funeral services will be held at Cambria Baptist Church, Christiansburg, on Saturday, February 7, 1998 at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Horne and the Rev. John Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
