Collins John Kenneth "Ken" Collins, age 63, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998 at the home of his sister in Saltville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, and was in the Merchant Marine for nine years. Survivors include one son, Wayne Collins, Saltville; his mother, Mable Collins, Saltville; three brothers, James E. Collins, Lexington, S.C., Thomas H. Collins and Billy D. Collins, both of Saltville; three sisters, Helen Smith, Mansfield, Ohio, Loretta Bise and Patsy McCormick, both of Saltville; one grandson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 4, in D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mumpower officiating. Military rites with the Saltville VFW Post and burial will follow in Johnson Family Cemetery. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements. Source-Southwest Va.
