    3. I just responded to Beth in regard to the Mahala name. It seems several of us are interested in a Thomas Collins from NC. I am supposedly descended from a Thomas Collins who married a Miss Sims. The fartherest back I can document is William C. Collins who married Sarah B. Wortham 2 July 1817, Lebanon, Wilson County, Tenn. In 1919 a John Collins married Mahala Wortham, a sister of Sarah B. Wortham The only hint that the father of my William may have married a Sims is the fact that also found in Wilson County, Tenn is an Elisha Sims Colline. My particular Collins line moved to Maury County, Tenn and from there to Pulaski Co., Ark where William died. William's wife and al least some of his children returned to Maury County, Tenn where Sarah B. Wortham Collins remarried. Supposedly the children hated their strpfather and scattered. One or two of the children reportedly went to Miss. I can not follow the line of any of William's children other than my own line. In looking for the Collateral line of John H. Collins I did run accross the Mahala name in Miss. I wondered if other members of the family went to Miss other than the brother of John H. Collins. If any of htis sounds familiar to any of you I will be happy to see if I can find anything in my material that will tie to the line on which you are working. Sincerely, Shannon Smyrl
