NC In the same year, there is another Obediah Collins living in Yadkin Co., at Bald Knob. This could possibly be the father of the first Obediah, due to the names in the family. Hi, I am trying to find any link or information concerning my paternal grandfather, Grover Cleveland Collin, b. June 29, 1892, d. December, 1974 in McMinnville, TN. His father's name was William Collins and his mother was Nancy Ethel McDaniel. I do not know any of his siblings name. I was told that he was born in KY, and know that he did live there. My father, William Collins, was born Jan. 30, 1925 in KY. My grandmother, Sarah Marie Lyttle, was his second wife. It was said that his first wife lived with him in Detroit, Michigan. The had two children, daughter Marie and a son. I cannot find any information on my grandfather. I was told that perhaps he descended from the Melungeon Collins line, but those records are not easily deciphered. It seems that anyone joining the Vardy Collins "tribe" automatically took on the Collins name. Any information that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Anna B. COLLINS of Greensburg, Indiana which was taken at the H.T. Biel Studio in Terre Haute, IN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Anna likely in her 20's at the time. The photograph was recovered in an album full of what appears to be schoolmates, possibly from I.S.N.S. Class of 1889 with most photographs taken at studios in Terre Haute, IN. I'm hoping to locate someone from Anna's family so that this wonderful old family treasure can be returned to family.
