We need such a descendant of Meredith to participate in the Collins DNA Study at www.relativegenetics.com . Judy in Pensacola Collins of Spartanburg 4/16/2001 11:00:40 Eastern Daylight Time Gayle1937 Dear Judi: I don't think that our Collins are related. My Collins were all founders of the Nazareth Presbyterian Church. I also have most of the children and Grandchildren. I do not have any Herbert in the children. My GGGGrandmother had her children in the same time period. I'll keep looking, but I know that there are a lot of Collins in that area that don't connect with ours. The children of Thomas and Rosannah Collins were: John Collins, married Elizabeth Brown-children were John, Thomas, Salley and Sarah; Richard Collins and William Collins both went to Kentucky and Missouri; Mary Collins who married White and left area; Alexander died young not married; Joseph Collins married Elizabeth Fleming and had Mary, Martha, Thomas, Ann Fleming, Rebecca Wells, Andrew Fleming, William Austin, Nancy Thompson, & Joseph A. Jr.; Jane Collins who married Willliam B. Austin; Nancy Agnes Collins who married Alexander Thompson and my GGGGrandmother Francis Collins who married Valentine Allen. Hope this helps you. 1. [COLLINS] Mathew & Margaret Collins, Ireland to Worcester, MA, USA via Canada? (children - Mary, Thomas, William, Frank, and John)
    2. Help! I'm stuck at my 3-g-parents! Mathew & Margaret Collins were both born somewhere in Ireland - Mathew in approximately 1828 and Margaret about 1830. They emigrated approx. 1852 with their infant daughter Mary (b. May 1850). Oral family history is very limited but it has them coming through Canada to settle in Worcester, Massachusetts. They were in Worcester by 1856 or so when they added to their family with Thomas (ca. 1856), William J. (b. August 1858 - my 2g-father), Frank (ca. 1860), and John (ca. 1861). Mathew died & was buried in Worcester, MA in 1864. Margaret died between 1880 and 1900 but I haven't figured out exactly when or where. My problem is that, I cannot locate Mathew, Margaret & Mary on any passenger list into the US - the lists into Canada for that period are almost nonexistent and I have no idea where to look for them on the other end. Mary married a Daniel Welch (b. January 1851, Massachusetts). Do any of my relatives hang off of your tree? If not, m! ight you have any suggestions on a next step? Thanks, Cathi Collins ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
