Laura Lee Hash Runions NARROWS, Va. - Laura Lee Hash Runions, 73, of Narrows, died Wednesday, December 31, 1997 in the Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg, Va. She was born at Comers Rock, Va., on May 16, 1924 and was the daughter of the late William McKinley and Cora Mays Hash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Herman Hash of Peterstown and Lena COLLINS of Crockett, Va. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows, and was a member and past worthy matron of Lakeland Chapter #74 O.E.S. of Narrows. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William French "Bill" Runions; a son, Kenneth Lee Runions, Narrows; a brother and sister-in-law, W. Vance and Peggy Hash of Rural Retreat; a sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Norman Jacoby, Luthersville, Md., and Betty and Robert J. Monroe, Aitkin, Mn.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Hash, Peterstown, and Lola D. Artie B. Collins RICHMOND, Va. - Artie B. Collins, 89, of Richmond, and formerly of Bluefield, Va., died Wednesday, December 31, 1997, in Richmond. She was born in Arkansas and was a daughter of the late Frank Westmoreland and Adline Westmoreland. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Collins and wife Kay, and Jessie Collins and wife Lola, all of Richmond; one daughter, Bonnie Mason and husband, Robert of Merrifield, Va.; two brothers, Earnest Westmoreland of Pocahontas, Va. and Shelby Westmoreland of McDowell County; one sister, Ellen Dillon of Roanoke, Va; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Thomas KENNEDY was b. 1764 in N.C. according to his Rev.pension file. I am looking for his parents and siblings. He was first m. to Sarah__? from this union 6 sons were borned. His oldest James was my ggggrandfather. The other sons were Joseph, John, David, Felix, and Daniel. After Sarahs death he m. Nancy Bishop whose father was Robert Bishop. They had 10 children Robert, Rhilly, Delia, Mary, Sarah, Catherine, Henry, Nancy, Susan and Rebecca. All of his children were borned in Duplin Co, N.C., where he died 2-05-1851. We have over 3500 of Thomas decendants. With 16 children there are many cousins out there to be found. One of his grandsons Married Martha Elizabeth COLLINS daughter of Lewis COLLINS b. 8-30-- 1797. Lewis was first m. to Margaret Casteen. Their C: James b. 12-26-1826,John b. 10-20-1828, Sarah Ann b. 2-13-1831 and Jeremiah b. 7-29-1832. I have a copy of Lewis Collins picture . BLUEFIELD - Claude G. Collins, age 94, of Rt. 4, Box 405 A, Bluefield (Bluewell) and formerly of River Road, passed away at his home on Sunday, Aug. 31, 1997. Born on Oct. 12, 1902, in West Jefferson, N.C., he was a son of the late Calvin and Rosa Collins. He had lived most of his life in Mercer County and was retired coal miner with 30 years in the mines. He was a member of the U.M.W.A., attended the Church of God and was preceded in death by his wife, Belle Sluder Collins; one daughter, Irene Collins Isaac; three sons, Buford, Chester and Jack Collins; three grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Collins Poe and husband Don of Raeford, N.C. and Ester Collins Howard of Falls Mills, Va.; one son, Claude Junior Collins of New Castle, Del.; one brother, Raleigh Collins of Coopers; 25 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Minister Harold Goins officiating.
