    3. fyi Saw this on the britain newsgroup COLLINS; Spalding, LIN,ENG; 1800- I am researching the Collins family from Lincolnshire. Edwin Collins was born in 1878 and married Emma Ellen Guy also born 1878. They had four children Ernest, Emily May, Nell and Charles. Emily May born 1905 at Spalding married Frank Rodgers in 1924 at Spalding and they had three children Marjorie, Brenda and Greta. Emily May died in 1963 in London. If anyone knows anything of this family I shall be most interested. Clive Owen Please e-mail me at suncli@globalnet.co.uk

Looking for information on WILLIAM KARNES COLLINS, who supposedly lived for a time in Washington County, Indiana, in the early 1800s. Could the above names belong to the same individual? Do the names Kerns or Karnes appear in any other Collins family lines? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Don

In an area called Dick's Fork( map says a stream runs through) my John W. and second wife Mary are said to have been living when the 1860& 70 census was taken however 1880 John and Mary disappear. I believe this couple died between those 10 years. Does anybody have anything on this family?

But THOMAS C. COLLINS is the father of WILLIAM COLLINS and had two wives and two sets of children, so the listing about that has THOMAS C. COLLINS and ELIZABETH, should have read WILLIAM COLLINS and ELIZABETH, plus the list of children as it stands. It must have been late in the day and I was blurry eyed and fuzzy minded. Les

    3. Les: My gggrandfather was Harrison COLLINS b in 1818. He was married to Martha Cyrus and was living in Cabell Co WV during the 1850 census. He later moved to Gallia Co OHIO and was listed in the1880 census. Do you suppose that the Harrison listed as a child of Thomas and Elizbeth is my gggrandfather? Do you have any more information on Thomas that might help me make the connection? For your information, I checked FTM CD- 1870 Census for Cabell CO WV and found an Aaron COLLINS, age 21 listed living in Barboursville Township (Roll 1686-page 543). Also, CD 229-Marriages lists William COLLINS married to Zilphia CONNER on 6/18/1837. Harrison has been a brick wall for me...here's hoping you might have the door to that wall. Bill Jordan

    3. Hi to all - Being new to the list, I thought I'd get my oar in the water early. My inquiry relates to: A. William Collins b. 1728 d. 29 Nov 1795 (A respected principal planter of Placentia.) m. Unknown Unknown ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This goes back to 1728 but I think William was born in Ireland, (County Kilearny I believe) not Placentia. I read somewhere that he was shipwrecked off the coast (possibly near St. Mary's) of Newfoundland (maybe while fishing the Grand Banks) and was brought to Placentia to recover the ordeal, where he stayed, resolving never to go to sea again, and became a planter in Placentia. We are looking for any information at all on where William came from in Ireland and how, on what ship or boat, he was on when shipwrecked off Newfoundland, Canada and his spouse(possibly married after he arrived in Nfld.). Thanks in advance to all and we look forward to interaction on this list. Regards, Wanda Collins/Ed Sisk ejsisk@sprynet.com HOMEPAGE: <http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/ejsisk>
