Looking for information on Martha J. COLLINS b. 6/1830 in Georgia. According to census, her parents born in SC. 1849 she married Starkey Lewis in NC. Some children born in TN. Some of the Lewis children went on to MO. Could she have been the daughter of Baptist preacher Stephen L. (or D.) Collins, b. in SC., and already been married and out of the home on the 1850 Cumberland Co., NC census. Would appreciate hearing from anyone with any information on these two Collins. Joyce- So. Cal. Hi, Does anyone have any ancestors who resided in Cedar County, Missouri anytime from 1882 through about 1898? I'm still looking for my William David Collins & wife Annie Elizabeth (Bessie) Ishmael ...... and since these are my grandparents & my maiden name is Collins I'd be terribly ashamed if I couldn't find them? <grin>. Ahhhh, may the Lord bless our Collins ancestors who didn't talk to their children about their ancestors ...... OR didn't leave a paper trail? <grin> Best Wishes, Lynn
Clyde wrote that he had a Bible with a Collins family tie-in. There is a site at http://www.lafleur.org which allows you to put any Bible you have on line. You can view other's family Bibles but only if you contribute one yourself! Beth 130 Cherokee Forest Dr. Athens, GA 30601 http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/8130
