    1. Joseph Collins
    2. Harold W.Cochran.
    3. Hi Collins rooters, Is there any help for this Collins family? Joseph Collins, Sr. was born 5-15-1739 in Rowan Co,NC; enlisted in the Revolution in Wilkes Co, GA; lived in Morgan Co: applied for a Revolutionary War Pension 8-27-1833 in Upson Co, GA; and died 8-25-1838 in Upson Co. He had no widow, but the Pension File named children living in 1853: Joseph born about 1803, Enoch, Thomas, and Nancy who married Benjamin Cochran Joseph drew land in the 1820 Lottery; he drew land in Gwinnett Co 1-26-1824 and Irwin Co 9-4-1827. Sarah Matilda Colllins, wife of Banister Cochran, was dead in 1853 and is not identified as a daughter. Benjamin and Banister Cochran were brothers and probably married sisters, however no document has been found that confirms that Joseph was Sarah Collins' father. No evidence of a will in Morgan or Upson Co, through Upson Co probate records. Harold Cochran haroldc@digital.net

    1. COLLINS from Ontario, Canada
    2. Gail Collins
    3. I am descended from William Collins who was born 1859 in England. He arrived here in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada in August 1871. On the the census for April 1871 he is living at the East Preston Workhouse in Sussex, England. There are no other Collins families living at this workhouse. William was a Home Child orphan & all I know is that his father's name is John Collins from England. I have a birth certificate for a William Collins born Nov 1859 at Watford, Hertford, father John. John Collins would have been born in Little Marlow, Buckingham. Presently I do not know if this information relates to my family. Do any of these place names sound familiar to other researchers. The Collins Digest seems to be mostly American in content but I thought I would add my information. Gail Collins St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada gcollins@vaxxine.com
