Dear Cousins- Has anyone lost a sibling named Jeremiah Collins? The earliest record of my great grandfather I have found is his Boyd County, KY marriage certificate showing his date of birth as about 1833 in Ireland (no city/county). On 8/15/1872 he married Celia/Cecilia Pack, a 24 year old born in Virginia (no city/county). I have yet to find record of immigration. The 1900 federal census lists his age as 67 years and occupation as "coal digger" with residence in the Cannonsburg, Boyd County, KY community. By this time, Jeremiah Collins and Celia Pack were the parents of 6 children, one of whom, Daniel Collins, b. 10/27/1889, was my grandfather. Any information would be appreciated and I'd be glad to share what I have. Larry H Collins Savannah, GA

My most wanted Collins is my mother's great grandmother. My mom said her name was Anna or Liza Collins, however, I have since found out it was Christina Collins. She was born June 1, 1832 in Pennyslvania and died in 1929 in Novi, Michigan. She married Oliver Palmer of Hudson, Michigan and had Ella Maude Palmer April 25, 1873 in Hudson, Michigan. Ella died August 23, 1955 in Livonia, Michigan. I believe there were at least two other children of Christina Collins and Oliver Palmer. For a while, my mother thought Ella was born in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, but we found out that was incorrect so now I am wondering if Christian may have been born in Monroe County. Is there anyone out there that might know of Christina's parents? Helen

Dear Mr. Powell, I didn't know about the Bidwell Home Page. Thanks! My mother recently sent me her copy of the Bidwell book and I have that branch of the family done. I sent a letter to Joan Bidwell, but haven't heard from her yet. I will try the home page. I was hoping to get the most up-to-date version of the book, as Mom wants hers back. I don't have any extra Bidwell info other than what's in the book. I am working diligently on the Collins-Dunn branch now. Thanks for taking the time to write. Mary Grabanski

Hello. I decend from Jacob COLLINS (my Most Wanted) b. 1771 in VA and married to Phebe STUTHARD about 1790. In 1810 they were living in Fayette Co., PA next door to Joseph COLLINS who I have proven was not a brother of Jacob thru the will of Josephs father, John. In 1814, Jacob purchased property in Wood Co., VA from Jacob BEESON and moved there shortly after. He was listed there in the 1820 census and stayed on that property until his death in 1846 and is buried there. This is now Ritchie Co., WV. I, too, have seen the Minnie Lowther book and much of it is unproven or wrong. Given that it was written at the turn of this century and that she was wheelchair bound, she did fairly well but several of my line are completely missing and have since been proven. The brothers who settled the Collins Settlement in what is now Lewis Co., WV were, I think, John and George. There was a Jacob COLLINS in this line also but I have never been able to connect this line with mine. Many of the Ritchie Co., WV COLLINS were from my Jacob COLLINS however, Manley COLLINS and his siblings that you mentioned are not decendants of Jacob at least as far as I have proven to this time. Will be happy to exchange data with you privately if you are interested. Melinda Collins Larson

Earlier I sent a transmission about this ancestor but did not attempt to locate; at least one child of Peter Collins and Susanna Meadors was in western Tn by early 1800s; Nancy Collins was born April 4, 1801 and died Oct 1, 1856 and was the second wife of Thomas Lovelace who first married Ann Mitchell and they had 12 children I am told; I also understand that Nancy Collins and Thomas Lovelace had three children and one of those Peter Collins Lovelace is my gg grandfather; west Tn or NC is only a guess of the location of Peter Collins and Susanna Meadors. Any assistance would be more than appreciated Bill Jo nes
