    1. Missing COLLINS Fitzwilliam Branch
    2. Richard Porter
    3. An interesting dilema: My gggrandmother Lucy A COLLINS (Married Oscar BARTHOLMEW) is in some fashion related to the Fitwilliam Branch of the Collins family (descendants of Henry and Ann COLLINS). I have a large collection of personal latters written to Lucy that indiacte the following: Father's name Charles Mother's name Mary maiden name TAYLOR Siblings: Chester and Luretin (sp) Connection to Fitzwilliam Branch: Letters written to Lucy by William Lysander COLLINS (son of Abishai) and 1 Civil War letter written by Daniel E BURBANK (husband of Ann Woods COLLINS daughter of Abisiah). Neither of the following list a Charles as an offspring of Abishai: History of Fitzwilliam by Rev John Norton and Henry Collins of Lynn by Anna P Collins and Charles Henry Pope. The references to Lucy in all letters refer to her as Niece. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Rick

    2. Hello! I am researching the family of Patrick Bowen Collins and his wife Kathrin, both born c. 1770's-1780's, who lived in Hyde Park, NY in the early 1800's. If anyone has any information about this family, please Email me at NJBIRD1197@aol.com. I am trying to link tehm with a New Jersey Collins family, which I have been researching for 10 years. 3. My most wanted Collins is confirmation on the parents of one William J./T. (Also called Squire 'Buck') Collins b. Aug 16, 1862(?) in Tennessee (probably Rutherford/Davidson Co). He married Roxana S.L. Archer Sept 7, 1877 in Rutheford Co., Tennessee. He was my grandfather. He died between Jan 1898 and 1900 between Indian Territory and Avoca Township, Pottattomie Co, Ok. Territory following a river crossing. In the 1890 Chickasaw Nation census, he was living in Mannsville, next to Alexander Archer, his brother-in-law. He and his wife had another child, per census records, who died before coming to OK. William's parents are possibly Jeremiah and Priscilla Archer, however, have beenunable to confirm. In Tennessee, the family is listed as Mulatto or Black. The family is with a 'clique' who are reported to have migrated from Bertie/Hertford Co, NC area and from VA prior to that. Any help would be appreciated. The family names were pretty well limited to Collins, Nickens, and Archer. Dewey

Well, Hi! I am looking for John and Enoch Collins. Martha Ann Collins was my g grandmother and she was the daughter of John Collins and Sarah Grantham. Martha Ann was born Aug 14, 1852. John Collins, her father, I have no dates for, but there is a marriage record of his father, Enoch Collins who married Fatima Knight on Mar 9, 1827. So, I would say that Martha's father and Enoch's son (being the same person) would probably have been born in about 1830 or thereabouts. It seems that this whole group of people, the Knights, Collinses, Granthams, Roberts, Vaughans (other connections) were located in Georgia and South Carolina. I have some CD's with indexes, but they don't seem to have much, but I will check again to make sure. I guess I will have to go to the library in Tampa and see what I can find in the census records for these places. Laura

    3. My most wanted Collins is William Edward Thomas Collins, born June 21, 1872, died August 31, 1941. He married Adeline (MA) Cooper July 9, 1891 at Reed Fork SC. Adeline was the daughter of HG Cooper and EG Griffin. Grandpa Collis is said to have been raised by his grandparent 'Black" whose other names are unknown. GGPs Black were alive in SC until sometime after Grandpa moved with his wife, her brother and his wife from Greenville or Charleston to Coryell Co Texas where they evenually settled at Flat, Texas. His inlaws, the Coopers eventually moved to Texas as well and at one time sold part of the land to the government used to build the army base at Fort Hood. Grandpa Collins' mothers name is unknown, she was said to have been 'unwell' and she died during Grandpa's earlier years. It's said that he didn't know his mother or his father. We don't know his father's name either. Grandpa always said he had 'no family'. However, from the family bible we have has 2 letters written in 1920 and 1920 where grandpa and grandma are corresponding with an 'Uncle Joe Collins" in mail postmarked from Spartenburg SC and Greenvill SC who is living with a nephew on a farm near Inman SC. Various Collins family members are discussed including Jucke Collins, Pink Collins an uncle in Charleston who is a preacher, John Collins, an uncle in Leeville SC who is 'very rich' and various other relatives. Does anyone recognize any of my elusive Collins?

    3. Looking for ancestors of Graham Collins, born 1803 in Nansemond Co, VA married Nancy ARLINE, 1821 in Gates Co, NC children Jerusha, Nanetta, Hugh, Hester. I have a hunch his father was Thomas Collins (c 1760 - c 1840) and his mother was Anna RUSSELL (c 1770 - 1850) but this is only through assumptions from census records. This would make Thomas R. and Elvy Collins brothers of Graham. Any info to prove Thomas is the father or someone else is greatly appreciated of course. Tom Rima tcalexi@pacbell.net
