Still searching for the parents of Meredith Collins born 1760 Va. d. 1841 Pike Co. Kentucky. If anybody has made any headway on this line I would be very interested in hearing from you. Brenda Collins Dillon
All I have on Jeremiah is that he was b. 1759 Albemarle Co, VA. He d. 1836 Stokes Co., NC. I do not know who he married, but they had at least one son, George Anthony Collins b. 1795 Stokes Co., NC. I have his lineage, and his descendants, but do not find a Charles anywhere. Of course, being genealogy, that does not mean there is not one. If I can be of any more help, please let me know. Looking for information concerning the murder of Enoch A. Collins December of 1889-90 in City of Mexico Missouri. Obituary for him in Washington Co. Ohio lists A. Perkins as sister. Believe this to be Abigail Perkins sister to my great great grandmother Nancy. Christina
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Sara M. COLLINS which was taken at the Oak Studio in Merrimac, Massachusetts. The photograph was taken in 1897 likely in celebration of her graduation from Merrimac High School with the initials "MHS" and "97" appearing on the front of the photograph. Sara does appear to be in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from Sara's family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I wanted to wish all the guys on the forum who are fathers the best of wishes and hopes for a happy and healthy father's day. I would like to share a poem I wrote for my Daddy a few years ago. He was a very special stepfather. Dear Lord, Take care of this man I call "daddy" For he took my hand and cared for me. Teach him to read and write in heaven, Cause life hasn't been easy for him , you see. Folks ofen called Daddy retarded But that was not at all true. He was never taught to read or write, Still it would be hard to fill his shoes. In my memories I recall a prayer from a child of three or four. "Dear Jesus, I need a daddy cause Mine up and walked out the door. I hear my mommie cry at night And sometimes I cry too. She loves me with all her heart...but... She is lonely and I don't know what to do. You sent this man in answer to my prayers so long ago. He touched my life and gave me strength And lead me down life's road. Mama took us off Fenwick Mountain To a far and distant land. With patience and her loving ways She taught us tall to stand. Daddy earned an honest dollar Working for the railroad lines. Thank you ,Jesus, for sending him, This man so gentle and kind. Daddy taught us hate builds walls He took us to your house to pray. Taught us to believe in ourselves, And be thankful for each new day. Then one cold and wintery morning, In that far and distant land. Jesus called and mama answered. "Come join in my heavenly angel band." Even tho he really missed her, He left her with a smile. He slowely knelt beside her And whispered"I'll see you in a while". Now the time has come, dear jesus For daddy's life on earth to end. Sent to me direct from heaven This man I call daddy, my friend. Take him home to be with mama To the mountains over there. There to walk the fields of glory Now I close my Lord, in prayer. Written 1995 for a Special Stepfather Arthur T. Shoulders Brenda Collins Dillon

Hi. I'm attempting to locate information on my biological father, Jack Collins, who lived in Ca. According to my birth certificate he was born in Texas in about 1914. In reviewing census records I've discovered a family in El Paso that may have been his parents. The father and mother were Henry and Helen Collins. There were at least eight brothers and sisters with Jack being the youngest. The father had a tent company in the El Paso area. I assume that there's several descendants of this family in Texas who may be able to confirm if this is the correct family. My father, Jack Collins went to Ca. in about 1930 (according to my birth certificate). He met my mother, Violet Bowers, at the Stockton Naval Shipyard. They were married in 1944 and moved to San Jose, Ca. where I was born. They separated shortly afterwards. My mother claims that he died around 1950 in San Jose but vital statistic searches doesn't support this although there is the possibility he died in another state. I have been unable to locate any information regarding him after their separation. If any of this information sounds familiar I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Jerry Collins
Hi! I am desperately looking for information Jesse Collins. I have no birth or death date, in fact very little. Jesse married Sarah Harville in Mississippi, I think. They had four children- Lily who married Jim Massey Clyde who married a Young Ella who married a Dye Willie May who married William A. Aycock, my grandparents. Willie was born in 1891. Sarah their mother died when the girls were young and Billy Harville raised them, we believe in Miss. Jesse left we don't know where to and he never came back, though they believed he remarried someone. If anyone has Jesse J. Collins in their line or has any information, please let me know. Thank you so much for any help. Carol [email protected] ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
