Mrs. Bertha Smith Mrs. Bertha C. Smith, 82, ofCleveland, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at Portsmouth GeneralHospital, where she had been a patient a week. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.Mrs. Smith had become ill while visiting relatives here.She was born in Scioto CountyNov 13, 1878, a daughter ofWilliam and Mary Kirk Colegrove.Her husband, Clifford Smith, preceded his wife in death in 1935.Mrs. Smith is survived by twosons, Harry Smith with whomshe had been residing in Cleveland and who is working for a steel company in Orissa,India, and Clifford R. Smithof Steubenville, Ohio; a brother, Frank Colegrove ofNew Boston; five grandchildrenand three great-grandchildren.Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers and a sister.Funeral services are to beconducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinley Funeral Home inLucasville. Rev. Robert Gushwais to officiate. Interment isto be in Greenlawn Cemeteryinder direction of McKinleyFuneral Home, where friends maycall.
