SEPTEMBER 28. 1917 Dwight Colegrove and son Carleton,, Mr. and Mrs. William Colegrove and daughter Beatrice of Utica were entertained at the Charles Colegrove farm home," upper Fountain street, Sunday, Sept 23, making the trip from Utica and back by auto. At their home on Marvin street, Monday evening, Sept. 24th, Mr. and Mrs. John Colegrove gave a reception to their many friends in honor of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The house was decorated .with golden rod and flowers appropriate for the occasion. Mrs. Barker of New Hartford presided at the refreshment table, assisted by Miss Sara Morris Of Clmton' and Mrs. Fred G. Sims of New Haven, Conn. Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove were assisted in receiving by Mr. and Mrs, Frank Wilcox, who were bridesmaid and "groomsman at their wedding. The couple were married in Waterville Sept 25,1869, the ceremony being performed by Rev. C. W. Hawley, pastor Of the Presbyterian Church, later principal of Cottage Seminary, Clinton. Three daughters were - born to them: Lottie M., who died three years ago: Mrs. Fred G. Sims of New Haven, Conn., and Clara E. of East Orange, N. J. They also have three grandchildren, Frederick G., John and Eunice F. Sims of New Haven. Conn. Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove have always resid^ ed in Clinton and are hold in the highest esteem, having a large circle of friends who gave most hearty congratulations on 50 years of happy wedded life and kind wishes for many years of future happiness. The. Young People's Baptist Union of Oneida-County, of which Frank S. Colegrove is president will have their annual meeting Tuesday evening, Oct. 2nd at Oneida Baptist Church. The union represents all the Baptist churches in the county and has a membership of 1,000. Rev. Willard P. Soper of Clinton will give the annual address. At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Colegrove. of Marvin street, Tuesday, Sept 25th, 1917. at high noon occurred the marriage of their daughter. Clara E, to H. A. Heine ot Washington, D. C. They were married by the Rev. Willard P. Soper of the Presbyterian Church and were unattended. After a wedding trip to Washington, D. C, they will make their home in East Orange. N. J.
