Leland Hanford Phelps Leland Hanford Phelps, 47, 1605Seeuben, Dided unedpectedly Jan.31, 1947, in his home. Dr. H.J. Haberer, coroner, said a hear ailment caused death.Born June 25 1899, in Addison,N. Y. he was the son of the late N. B. Phelps Sr. and DaisyMae Colgrove. He married Harriet Halbert in Hornell, N. Y., on Sept. 10, 1924. For the past year they have residedin Utica. He formerly lived inLacona, N. Y., where he attended school, completing his education at the Universityof Michigan.He was the division sales man-ager for the A. C. Dutton Lumber Corporation, Poughkeepsie,and had traveled extensively in Centeral New York. He was amember of the Empire StateLumber Salesmen Association and the first Presbyterian Church and its Men's Club. Aveteran of World War I he was also a lietenant in the reserves.Besides his widow, he leaves two sons, W. Bradley and E. Herbert, Utica; a daughter, Miss Joan Phelps, Utica; his mother Mrs. N. B. Phelps Sr.,Addison, N. Y.; three sisters,Mrs. Leonard Grist, Addison;Mrs. Lester Andrews, Bath, N.Y.;Miss Irene Phelps, Addison; onebrother, Norman B. Phelps,Addison.Services will be help at 2:30P. m. today from the FirstPresbyterian Church Chapel.
