Obit: Betty Colegrove Betty Jean Colegrove age82, Joplin, went home to be with the Lord at 5:10p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007.Betty was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo.,to the late Jesse Allisonand Pauline BriscoeAllison. She was a graduate of Kansas CityPaseo High School and then attended junior college. She graduatedfrom Baker University in Baldwin, Kan., with a degree in education. She taught in all aspectsof education for nearly20 years in the KansasCity area. She was afreshman English in-structor at Baker University for severalyears, taught at the high school level andthen taught elementaryeducation while working for the Kansas City school District. It waswhile teaching at BakerUniversity that she mether favorite student and future husband, GeneColegrove.Betty was a wonderful wife and mother.She was a member and active with the P.T.A.;was a member of the honor's society at BakerUniversity; and was a longtime member of CarlJunction Christian Church.Betty married Lewis"Gene" colegrove on Aug.31, 1947, in Kansas City.He survives at the home.Additional survivirs in-clude a brither, RichardAllison and wife, Betty Hane Joplin; a niece, Jessica Sellers, Henderson,Nev.; and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter Gina Beth in 1985.Services will be Tuesdayat 11 a.m. at ParkerMortuary Chapel, BoyceMouton, minister, willofficiate. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.The family will receivefriends from 10 a.m. untilservice time at the chapel.Memorial contributions maybe made to the Carl Junction Christian ChurchBuilding Fund or to Gideon'sInternational.The family would like tothank the stadd of National Health Care for the compas-sion and care taht they gaveto Betty.
