Ranch Worker, Sought for Killing, Surrenders to Posse YUBA CITY Jan 30--While a Posseof 20 men searched for him in the rugged Sutter County buttes.Nestor Bretz, 32 ranch worker, surrendered early this morningand was lodged in the County Jail for the murder of Fred Colegrove 44, a rancher.Bretz admitted shooting Colegrovewith a borrowed shotgun on a lonely road 12 miles north of here. He refused to give anymotive for the murder but SheriffBert Ullrey expressed the beliefthat it was the result of a dispute over a property line.The murder took place late yes-terday afternoon.After the discovery of the body, Sheriff Ullrey launched a searchfor Bretz because he was knownto be an acquaintance of the murdered man.Searchers were hampered by a heavy fog in the buttes and had almost given up when Bretz appearedat what is known as the West SutterBridge and surrendered to threedeputies.Colegrove is survived by a widow and two step-sons.
