    2. Terry, Thanks for the heads up and apologies for the advertent "reply" before I could start typing my comment. I have a copy of the 1998 "republished" original William Colegrove book. Despite the division into "tribes," it's sadly lacking in documentation and perpetuates the error re Eli being eldest son of the immigrant who died in 1710. I tend to agree that Eli had an older brother who was the one who died in Queen Anne's War. Eli (Eleazar) Colegrove of Exeter, RI, executed his will 11 Jan 1758, and will was proved 11 Apr 1758. His only son, Oliver, was born ca 1741, married 1765, died before 19 May 1801, date of the first deed by which his children transferred property they intherited from him. In other words, even the original Colegrove book can only be regarded as a starting point. Chris in Colorado In a message dated 9/27/2010 10:14:24 A.M. I seen a copy of it this past weekend. It's a waste of paper! The layout is totally different, with no real seperation between the "tribes" as William has laid it out. The typo's are horendous. I just prused through the book and seen the following, who knows how many more there were. Colegrove was spelled; colkgrove colegkove colegbrove colegrbove coalgrove colegroke colegkoke colegrobe Seen first names butchered too... Warren was often spelled Waeeen.
