    3. Thanks Casandra. My grandmother Elizabeth McCartney Colegrove (b. 1876) died of pernicious anemia in 1925. Not sure what that was and I don't think they know back then. Anyway, grandpa was remarried about a year later to Lucinda. My uncle, Frederick Colegrove (1901-1991), took care of her in later years. My father was CHC III's other son, Henry E. Colegrove (1903-1984). As indicated in the announcement, Charles Henry III's last assignment as a Baptist minister was in Fairport. We had a small reunion in 2000 and had a tour of Raymond Baptist from the then pastor. You're coming up with some great stuff. I have been passing it along to my second cousin, Rodney Johnson, in Daytona Beach. I think he is sending you some stuff on CD. He has been keeping track of our branch for many years. He is also a greatgrandson of Charles Henry II. His mother was Beatrice Colegrove Johnson, daughter of William Walter Colegrove, son of CHC II. Colegrove, upper Fountain street, Saturday, July 2S. Old time songs were sung and old time music enjoyed on the phonograph and piano. Miss Hazel A. Ford rendered several old time favorites on the piano. She also played for Kyffin Williams to sing several solos in a very pleasing manner He sang one or two in Welsh A quartette composed of A. G. Toomer. tenor; Kyffin Williams, barytone: Charles Payne, first bass; Leo Payne, second bass, gave several selections. Mrs. F. S. Colegrove and K. Williams sang a duet, "Calvary," composed by Mrs. F. S. Colegrove. After a bountiful dinner croquet was enjoyed by some of the younger ones, and a pray and praise meeting by the older ones. In spite of the storm in the afternoon the stars and stipes waved all day to the breeze. Those present were Prof. and Mrs George w Payne and two sons Woodford and Ernest, of Dayton, Oregon. Louise Mae Bryan was born Dec. 24, 1878, in Covington, Pa., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Bryan. She was married SepL 15, 1897 In New York Mills to Albert, H. Ford by the Rev. Jabez Ford of the Hillsboro Baptist Church. Mr. Ford died Feb. 9, 1914. She later was married to Frank S. Colegrove of Clinton. Mr. Colegrove died March 8, 1947. Mrs. Colegrove spent most of her married life in the Town of Kirkland and for thef past 10 years had resided in St. Cloud, Fla.     2. Brookfield NY Courier 1889 - 1890 Wednesday August (?) C o l e g r o v e R e u n i o n. A reunion of the Colegrove family was held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the residence" of Clark Welch near Leonardsville. It was the first reunion of a large family scattered over the counties of Otsego, Oneida and Madison. There were present about seventy of the descendants of Asa Colegrove. Among those present from a distance were: Mrs. J. G. Pierce and daughter and J. D. Pierce and.family from Bridgewater, C. H. Fisk and family from Clayville, Charles and John Colegrove with their families from Clinton, Mrs. Omar Clark of Dover, NJ and Prof. F. W. Colegrove of Colgate University A letter was read from Rev. W. Colegrove, D. D., and a poem by Charles Colegrove of Clinton. The Colegrove family traces an honored lineage back to Francis Colegrove who came, to Roger Williams' settlement when Rhode Island was first settled. In 1877, she married William Turp,. who died about twenty-five years ago. In 1925 she married Washington Colegrove, i who died about two years later. Since his death she has resided w i t h her daughter Mrs. Elliott in this village. Besides the daughter above Mentioned she is survived by three daughters. Mrs. Maude Curry' and Mrs. Merton Tooley of, Milford, and Mrs. Fred Prindle of Oneonta. and by one son, Albert Turp of Oneonta. and by several more distant relatives; Funeral services wore held at, 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter. - T h e Rev. William J. Brown, pastor of the Methodist church officiated and burial was in the Milford cemetery.

Colgrove eighty-eightyears old, last surviving CivilWar veteran of Maryland township,passed away at 5 a.m. Wednesdayat the home of his grandson,Charles Trask of Maryland. Hisdeath came after an illness ofsome duration.Mr Colgrove was born in Mason-ville February 1 1844, a son ofPhineas and Eliza Jane Palmer. He enlisted for the War of theRebellion at Elmira in 1863, joining Company F of the 13threfiment. He was transfered toCompany K, New York Heavy Artillery, and served with thatunit until the completion ofthe war. His refiment, underthe command of Captain GeorgeW. Ingalls, participated inseveral major battles.Upon returning to this sectionafter the close of the war, Mr.Colgrove joined Brown post of the G. A. R. This post was organized at Schenevus, and at the time of organizationnumbered a great many of the men in this vicinity who servedthe Blue in the great conflict.In recent years the ranks had been depleted rapidly. Mr.Colgrove, so far as it is knownbeing the last surviving memberof the post.He was trice married. His first wife was Amanda Osterhout of Charleston four corners, Montgomery county; his second wife was Lavena Burlingame, while his third wife was HelenTeller, both of BurlingtonFlats.Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Jennie Trask, Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Thompson,Bridgeport, Conn., and Mrs.Minnie Packer Portlandville;one brother John Colgrove, Portlandville, besides ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Freer Mrs. helen C Freer, 89, of1147 Brinckerhoff Ave., died Saturday afternoon, September7, 1985 at the Faxton Hospitalafter a brief illness.She was born August 30, 1896, in Edmonston, NY., the daughter of John W and Mary Wood Colgrove. On April 21,1916, she eloped with and married Ralph S. Freer. The couple is a life long residentof Itica. Mrs. Freer was a well-known bowler in Uticaand was Past President of theUtica Women's Bowling Assn.Helen Helped organize the first co-ed league, in Utica,which is still in existance. She also was instrumental inorganizing the Roger's GirlsRecreation League and has bowled in 15 National Tour-naments. Mrs. Freer held the office of Treasurer for theItica Women's Bowling Assn. for 30 years from 1948 until 1978 and was a life member of the women's International Bowling Congress in NY StateWomen's Bowling Assn. andthe Itica Womens Bowling Assn.She also was a member ofthe National State and City600 Club. Helen was the second woman inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame andthey were the only coupleinducted into the Hall ofFame.Mrs. Freer is survived byher husband, Ralph S.
