    1. [COLEGROVE] Mattress issues....

    3. I can't imagine ever sleeping on this type of mattress.. MRS COLEGROVE'S MATTRESSES. She Charges an Upholster With All Sorts of Things Mrs. Omar Colegrove, of West Fayette Place, West Fayette Street, is in a terrible pickle over the contents of her matteresses, Six years ago, she says she had her mattresses rehabilitated by Henry C Beckwith, an upholster. There were three of the mattresses, which were made of curled hair and cost $70. Beckwith made them over into two and charged $13 for the job. The years have **** since then, both Beckwith and Mrs. Colegrove have changed their quarters and the mattresses have grown hard, lumpy and sleepless. Mrs. Colegrove finally found them ***- durable and hunted up beckwith. The latter had forgotten her and when he saw the mattresses opened them to see what sort of stuff they containted. The filling, he said was Florida moss, s** grass and hogs bristles. Not a single curled hair could be found with a microscope. Seeing that Beckwith did not know her, Mrs. Colegrove, so she says related her experience in having them made over. The upholster then said that it was worth only $2 to do what he had been done to the mattresses. Then Mrs. Colegrove told how the mattresses originally contained curled hair and finally got out the truth by naming Buck with himself as the man who had been guilty of the substitution and over-charge. The upholster at that, so Mrs. Colegrove says said "I'll have to go" and immediately left the house. Yesterday, Mrs. Colegrove called upon Buckwith at his present place of business, No. 76 South Salina street and asked him what he was going to do about it. he did not give her a satisfactory answer but agreed to call at her hsoue last evening to talk the matter over. He did not call. It is understood that Beckwith claims it is a blackmailing scheme. This Mrs. Colegrove indiganlty denies. The laster says she will place the matter in a lawyers hands.
