    3. MADISON — Glenn E. Colegrove Sr., age 81, died on Friday December 31, 1993 after a long illness with Alzheimers. He was born on December 22, 1912 in New Lenox, Illinois and attended school in Joliet. On February 24, 1940 he married Geraldine Werner. Glenn worked for the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad from 1930 to 1948. He had also worked for the Kroger grocery in Madison for several years and most recently had worked as the custodian of Christ Presbyterian Church from 1966 to 1978, when he retired. He also served as a deacan and an elder at the church for several years. Glenn was also a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine, and a son, Glenn E. Colegrove Jr., both of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 1994 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, with the Rev. John Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation. If friends desire, memorials may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimers Association.     3. Winston Colegrove Winston H. Colegrove, also known as "Zeke" died of natural causes Jan. 1 at the severna Park Center, Genesis Eldercare Network, after a lengthy illness. A 30 years resident of Annapolis, Mr. Colegrove was born Nov. 2 1916, in Burlington, Vt., where he attended an agricultural college. He then worked as a bacterololist in Vermont. He was honorably discharged from the army in 1945 and was married that same year to Helene S. Colegrove. Among his cecorations were the American Decense Service Medal, the Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Ribbon and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He and his wife owned and oper- ated Cape Hardware, a store in Cape St. Claire, for 20 years. He was a member of the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg, Pa., the Boumi Yacht Club, the Annapolis Shrine Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Pennsylvania for 55 years. He enjoyed collecting nautical items. ALso Surviving are two sisters, Ruth Keith of Cape Cod, Mass. and Edith Noyes of Lexington, Mass. Funeral and burial will be private.     3. Mrs. Gertrude Elaine Colegrove Elston Mrs. Gertrude Elaine Colegrove Elston, 40 of 10102 * ******ville Road, Frederick, died Friday, Oct 20, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was the wife of David F. Elston. Born in Lawrenceville, Pa., Aug. 2. 1938, she was a daughter of Glen M. Colegrove, DeBary, Fla., and Mrs. Gertrude Eiffert Colegrove Carter, Elkland, Pa. Mrs. Elston was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Frederick, and along with her hisband, she had cared for 23 foster children, mostly pre-adopted infants, over a 10-year period for the Department of Social Serices and the Methodist Home in Randallstown. For the past year, she was a licensed day care mother at her home. Surviving, besides her husband and parents, are two children, David Carter Elston, and Marcia Lynn Elston, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Horton of Lawrenceville, Pa., Mrs. Mary E. Flair of Redwood City, Calif., and Mrs. Beverly Carney, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Colegrove, Lawrenceville, Pa., and Glen M. Colegrove Jr. of Washing- ton; her setpfather, Leroy S. Carter, Elkland, Pa., and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Elston is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY-The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Colgrove of Westfield was celebrated recently with an open house at their home, 93 Union St. The affair was hosted by the couple's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Colgrove Jr., and grandchildren, Cynthia and Darrell. The anniversary table was centered with a tiered wedding cake with gold rose and leaf decorations, gold tapers and an heirloom lace cloth over gold. Mrs. Colgrove, who wore a long dark turquoise suit with gold accessories, was favored with a white and gold orchid corsage with gold points. Mr. Colgrove received a yellow rose boutonniere. Mr. Colgrove and the former Irene Johnson were married Oct. 28,1925 at the Presbyterian Parsonage by the Rev. Charles Thompson. Mr. Colgrove retired in 1971 from the Ajax Flexible Coupling Corp. of Westfield after 36 years of service. Aug. 18. for the marriage of Miss Mary Beth Colgrove and Mr. Orrin Neil Kom. The 7:30 double-ring ceremony performed at the home of the bride's parents by Judge Burt J. Valvo. united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Colgrove of Old Main Road. Silver Creek and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Kom of Montreal. Quebec. Miss Ann Muccigrosso. flutist, and Mr. David Cid. guitarist, provided music as the bride was given in marriage by her mother and father. She selected a gown of ivory voile over taffeta fashioned on Victorian lines with a high rise bodice of Irish crocheted lace. Ruffling detailed the neckline and the wrists of the long tapered sleeves and a deep ruffle accented the hemline. She wore a Juliet cap of matching lace which held her silk illusion veil and she carried a cascade of roses and ivy with ivory satin streamers. The bride chose her sister Mrs. John R. Powers of Glens Falls as her honor attendant. Attired in a multicolor print gown of voile over taffeta, she carried a cascade of pink roses. Her gown was detailed with smocking and tiny satin buttons on the high "ruffled neckline and cuffs of the long tapered sleeves. Attending the bridegroom as best man was his brother. Mr. Leslie Kom of Montreal. Mr. John Powers of Glens Falls served as usher. Mrs. Colgrove attended her daughter's wedding in a gown of aqua pleated chiffon with matching accessories and a corsage of ivory roses. Cymbidium orchids accented the blue floral print gown and matching accessories worn by the bridegroom's mother. A reception followed at the home of the bride's par- ents. For traveling to Toronto and Stratford. Ont.. the bride wore a brown and white tweed ensemble with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Upon their return, the couple will reside at 196 North St Buffalo. The Bride is a graduate of Tricaire College in Buffalo. Miss Colgrove, Mr. Powers Wed In Glens Falls Escorted to the altar by both her parents, Miss Christine Louise Colgrove of Silver Creek became the bride of Mr. John Robert Powers of Glens Falls today at an 11 o'clock double ring ceremony at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Glens Falls. The Rev. Charles Duffy of the Philippine Islands, the Rev. Richard Noonan of Rochester and the Rev. John French of Glens Falls, concelebrated the nuptial Mass uniting the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald F. Colgrove, 11925 Old Main Road, Silver Creek and the son of Mrs. J. Kenneth Powers, 64 Walnut St., Glens Falls and the late Mr. Powers. Miss Mary Ann Girard, the organist accompanied Mr. James Malvaso, soloist. The bride who was attired in a formal gown of white dotted Swiss over bridal taffeta, carried her maternal grandmother's 75-year-old first Communion prayer book accented by a single white rose. To add to that something old, the bride wore a Spanish heirloom pin of gold filigree, a gift from her Mexican "parents" with whom she resided while an exchange student in Mexico. Her gown, designed with a high neckline and fitted cuffs on the long full sleeves, featured an empire bodice trimmed with tiny white Venise lace repeated again on the hemline of the A-line skirt. A Camelot cap of white dotted Swiss held her bouffant tiered veil of imported silk illusion. Miss Mary Beth Colgrove of Buffalo attended her sister as maid of honor. She selected a multicolored wallpaper print gown of voile over taffeta. Smocking and tiny satin buttons trimmed the high ruffled neckline and cuffs of the long, full sleeves and the empire waist of the semi-full skirt. She wore a matching pink Dior bow and carried a bouquet of miniature pink and white carnations. Miss Mary Jane Powers of Glens Falls, sister of the bride- groom and bridesmaid, was attired in a gown similar to that worn by the maid of honor. She also wore a pink Dior bow to complement her gown and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Mr. Michael Powers also of Glens Falls, served as best man for his brother. The ushers, all residents of Glens Falls, were the Messrs. Edward Donohue, James McPhillips and Lawrence Mancini. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Colgrove selected an ivory and white pantsuit with matching accessories. The bride- groom's mother chose a pink linen costume accented with self accessories. A reception immediately followed the ceremony at The Montcalm in Lake George. For travelling to Montreal, the bride wore a pink and white tweed linen A-line dress with matching Eton jacket and white accessories. The bride is a graduate of Griffith Institute in Springville, and is presently a senior at LeMoyne College in Syracuse. The bridegroom, a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls, is also a senior at LeMoyne College. Schutz - Colgrove NAPLES -- A lovely Jun wedding was colemnized Saturday after- noon at 4 o'clock in the Naples Presbyterian Church, when Miss Marian Elizabeth Schutz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schutz, of Naples, became the bride of Ray N. Colgrove, son of Bessie N. Colgrove, of Hemlock. The Rev. Elmer Irving Braden, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white satin in princess style with a long veil of embroidered tille, caught with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The matron of honor, Mrs. Elsie Van Schaick, sister of groom, wore powder blue chiffon and a coronet of daisies in her hair. She carried a shower bouquet of daisies adn delhinium. Bridesmaids were Misses Eunice Glauser and Mary Standish of Naples; Mrs. Gordon Schutz of Prattsburg; Miss Thelma Groves, of Lyon Falls. All were gowned alike in peach chiffon with long capes to match and wore coronets of daisies. They carried shower bouquets of daisies and delphinium caught with turquoise ribbon. The flower girls Misses Betty and Ruth Van Schaick wore powder blue organdy and carried baskets of pink rose petals. Miss Delores Schutz, niece of the bride was ring bearer and wore peach organdy. During the ceremony Miss Nancy Morey daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar S. Morey of Naples sang "I Love You Truly". Othello Thurton of Hemlock was bestman. Ushers were Jack Connors, Donald Collins, Glenn Bernhardt of Hemlock and Gordon Shutz, brother of the bride of Prattsburg. Mrs. Shutz, mother of the bride, woee aqua crepe with whiter accessories and a corsage of sweetheart roses. Mrs. Colgrove, mother of the bridegroom, was gowned in navy blue crepe with white accessories and wore a corsage of talisman roses. Following the ceremony a reception was held for the immediate families and a few friends in the East Avenue tea room. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Colgrove will live in Hemlock. D., was solemnized. Friday evening, at the home of the Rev. Hugh Boyd, East State Street. The bride was attired in a gown of blue printed silk with corres- ponding accessories.     3. Death Takes Mrs. Ambrose BUHL—Mrs. Clara Ambrose, 79, died Tuesday morning at the home of a son, Orville Ambrose, of a long illness. She was born Oct. 1, 1886, in Nebraska and was married to William Ambrose April 9, 1903, at Smithshire, Ill. They moved to Buhl in 1910. Mr. Ambrose died in April, 1946. Mrs. Am- brose belonged to the Buhl Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include six sons, Chester Ambrose, Orville Ambrose and Marion Ambrose, all Buhl; Gerald Ambrose, Rupert; Robert Ambrose, Arco, and Ernest Ambrose, Forest Grove, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. June Shippelhute, Portland; Mrs. Mae Merritt, Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Jensen, Gooding; 34 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Buhl First Methodist Church by Rev. Paul V. LaRue. Friends may call at the Albertson-Dick- ard Funeral Home Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Heart Fund. Final rites will be held in the Buhl Cemetery.     3. POPULAR COUPLE MARRIED TODAY ----- The marriage of Miss Margaret Tobin of No. 37 Union street and Ivan Colegrove of Canisteo was solemnized this morning at Saint Ann's parochial residence. The Rev. Francis J. Naughten officiated. The happy couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Francis Tobin adn only a few immediate friends and relatives were present. The bride was attired in a suit of blue poiret twill and an orchid picture hat. Her brides- maid wore a suit of tan homespun with brown trimmings. Afterwards a reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride in Union street and later Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove departed on a brief wed- ding trip. Upon their return they will make their home here.
